Livestreaming Reliability Policy
Delivering live broadcasts from remote and regional locations presents unique technical challenges, particularly throughout Tasmania.
Finney’s livestreaming services primarily operate using mobile data networks and are therefore dependent upon the availability and quality of 4G and 5G coverage at the venue.
To maximise service reliability, we utilise specialised broadcast-grade networking technology designed to enhance signal reception, improve bandwidth stability, and optimise connectivity. Despite these measures, mobile network performance remains subject to factors outside our control, including geographic location, network congestion, terrain, and carrier infrastructure limitations.
Where network conditions impact a live broadcast, the following policy applies:
Recorded Event Availability
Should any interruption occur during a livestream, a high-quality recording of the event will always be captured and uploaded to our Livestreams page for viewing as soon as practicable following the service, generally on the same day.
Minor Service Interruptions
Short-duration interruptions are an inherent risk of mobile-network-based broadcasting. These may appear as temporary video buffering, reduced image quality, or brief outages typically lasting several seconds. On occasion, interruptions may extend to a few minutes, particularly in areas located significant distances from urban telecommunications infrastructure. As these issues are beyond our reasonable control and form part of the nature of portable livestreaming, refunds or service credits are not available for minor disruptions.
Major Network Failures
In exceptional circumstances, a significant network outage may result in an extended loss of transmission. Finney’s defines a major service interruption as a continuous outage exceeding five (5) minutes in duration. Again, should any interruption occur during a livestream, a high-quality recording of the event will always be captured and uploaded for viewing as soon as practicable following the service, generally on the same day.
